Through the course of it, Humble stated that the simulation game’s ‘goal-oriented’ gameplay of can attract traditional gamers.

According to Humble, the next installment will be able to target and lure in gamers due to the changes and improvements that they’ve made. He said that, “The team has added a lot more challenge and depth for gamers.”

He added that players can now enjoying spending time doing things that they like in the game in great detail, such as book keeping, fishing, and even gardening. Furthermore, the flexibility of the new Sims character system will be able to bring in something new and dynamic.

Regarding the changes that were made, Humble commented that he didn’t want to have a hamster cage of a game anymore, like what happened with The Sims 2. He referred to the Sims in the sequel as hamsters with jobs. He felt that the game was limiting and that they needed an open world.

As for what to anticipate from the game, this was what Humble had to say:

You re not going to get where this game can go unless you can walk across the street and see the neighbour s kids playing in the opposite yard, or you can buy a home at the top of a mountain and look down on a town.

A variation of the Ubisoft logo - Image 1A good performance has a way of encouraging people to set their sights on even higher goals. Take the case of Ubisoft, for instance. The company has raised its current year targets due to strong performance from its games.

How high are Ubisoft’s targets, exactly? We’re talking an expectation of EUR 920 million in full-year sales here. Not bad, considering that the guidance given last January 23 was at
EUR 875 million.

The company has also raised its fourth quarter sales outlook from EUR 165 million to EUR 210 million. Ubisoft also anticipates current operating income before stock options to represent around 14 of sales.

With all these high expectations, it’s probably no coincidence that Jade Raymond picked this time to work on a new project.

It’s quite uncommon for an FPS game to have an totally awesome single player mode, and Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Personal computer, Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360) definitely delivered in that oft-ignored part of an FPS title package. Now, we catch wind that while the developers don’t quite have plans for downloadable content for the single-player campaign, it’s pretty much in their reach to dole out some.

This comes directly from one of Infinity Ward’s programmers, namely Jon Shiring. His statement, verbatim: “I wouldn’t rule it out but we don’t have any plans for that right now.”

The reason for this, Jon Shiring explains, is that developers tend to release new multiplayer content instead of single player content when it comes to FPS titles. It makes sense, given the competitive nature of the genre. But – and it’s a resounding but – when it comes to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Shiring stated that the upcoming DLC was in direct response to community requests, and not just because of the inherent multiplayer aspect of the game.

This means, then, that if players want to get more out of the Single Player Campaign, then all we’ve to do is to demand it. It’s not all that hard, and the devs DO listen (as proven by the incoming DLC), so let’s hope for it, shall we?

As for the upcoming DLC, here are a few details: the Xbox 360 version will be getting its joy come April 4, while the PS3 version a full 21 days after (that’s April 25). No news yet about the Personal computer version, but it’s a safe bet that it will be pretty one-of-a-kind from the console versions. Here’s hoping so, in any case. Updates as we get them!
