Rumor: little blood, no fatalities in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe?Posted by admin in Video Games
If you think that fatalities are sine qua non for Midway Games’s Mortal Kombat, you might want to think again. Fatalities will reportedly be absent in the crossover title Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. That’s not all, though. The rather gratuitous amount of blood present in previous Mortal Kombat games will purportedly be toned down to the point where there will be little-to-no amounts of it. Believe us when we state we’re as baffled as you’re. Nevertheless, these tidbits came from a former Midway Games employee who worked on the game. The said employee reportedly contacted Kotaku and mentioned what the violence level in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe would be like. Given the watered down effects we’ve described above, including the words Mortal Kombat in the title seems to be a contradiction in terms. Nevertheless, we’re keeping our eyes peeled on Midway’s Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Watch this space for more info on the next installment of the series. source pc.qj.net

Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway interview, trailer videosPosted by admin in Video GamesIt’s been a while since we last heard about Gearbox Software’s phenomenal-looking FPS for the Computer, PS3 and Xbox 360, Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway – and in this two-hit-combo of an interview video and a trailer, we catch wind that the game is pretty much nearing release, and it’s looking very good. In the interview, we learn straight from the developers that Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway uses the same technology that Epic Games used with Gears of War (read: Unreal Engine) and with Epic updating the engine, the developers also updated the game in turn so as to make it more next-gen. And boy, does it look like that, with the cover-and-shoot mechanics looking very slick in the trailer. Slated for an August release date, we can’t wait to get our hands on a copy. Enjoy the videos!

According to Activision, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows will be a free roaming, open-ended game set in New York. EA submits second info request from FTC about Take-Two acquisitionPosted by admin in Video Games
EA recently submitted a second information request from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) about its proposed acquisition of Take-Two. However, the FTC explained that it will still need additional time to review the proposal and hasn’t reached any conclusions so far. The Redwood-based company countered that the proposed transaction with Take-Two wouldn’t be anti-competitive. It will inevitably fall on the FTC’s shoulders whether this proposal would benefit the industry as a whole or become a whole new deterrent all together. In any case, make sure to come back to this spot for more updates regarding Electronic Arts’ future plans on acquiring Take-Two Interactive, as well as other news in video gaming industry. source pc.qj.net

The Man in the Iron Mask: Sega presents Iron Man Comic-Con trailerPosted by admin in Video GamesFew things can match the adrenaline rush of seeing an armored super hero strut his stuff on video. Thanks to Sega, you can see Tony Stark pit his armor against the military’s armor in this Comic-Con video of the Iron Man (Personal computer, PS3, PSP, XBox 360, Wii, DS) game. Armed with his suit, his repulsors and his attitude, Iron Man takes on various military ground vehicles and aircraft. Seemingly invincible, Stark does everything from yanking the turrets off of tanks and helicopter gunships to redirecting the trajectories of missiles. We can only hope that the actual Iron Man video game plays as good as this video looks. At the very least, Sega’s trailer gives us something to look forward to. Electronics giant Toshiba is bouncing back into proper form, and in this particular rebound they’ve unleashed a round of summer updates for a line of laptops in Japan. Looking pretty much like the sleek, expensive pieces of portable computing technology they’re, you’re going to have to shell out quite a lot (as well as live in Japan) if you want to have one of these babies. First up is the Qosmio F40, a 15.4-inch model that now can trade its HD-DVD drive with a DVD multi option. It also sports a Core 2 Duo T8100 CPU on top a GN965 Express chipset. And to play with that, it has 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and HDMI outs. Not bad for US 2,127. Then there’s the Dynabook AX, |
