Here’s something mobile phone connoisseurs should look out for: Motorola just recently submitted documents concerning a certain Linux-powered handheld to the Federal Communications Commission (yes, it’s the FCC). This mobile is called the A810, and it looks care about it packs quite a punch aside from it having a Linux OS.
According to the FCC exhibits for the device, the A810 has a touchscreen, with onscreen keyboard, and handwriting recognition. Some small perks are also added to it, like FM radio and such. There’s a small snag about the availability of this device within the U.S. shores, because it lacks the GSM 850MHz bandwidth.
We’ll be keeping tabs on this device, so stay tuned for more updates.
