Terminal Reality likes working on Ghostbusters PS3 first before other versions

Sierra Entertainment’s Ghostbusters: the Video Game is definitely set to spook out gamers in various platforms such as Personal computer, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii, DS. But making the multiple versions might be a difficult task.
According to Terminal Reality, the company responsible for developing the game, they like working with the PS3 version before tackling the Xbox 360 and PC versions. Terminal Reality’s president, Mark Randell, had a technical reason why they were going to take such a step.
Randell stated that unlike other consoles, the “multiprocessing model of the PS3 isn’t a general-purpose model.” The console itself utilizes six Synergetic Processing Units and one main processor at the same time. This is what sets it apart from the Xbox 360 and the Personal computer.
Randell continued that the Xbox 360 and the Personal computer “share a general-purpose multiprocessor coding model.” While the 360 puts into use three general-purpose PowerPC processors, the Personal computers use about one to four Intel or AMD processors.
Given the situation, the company has resolved that it’s easier to make the development of the game move from “specialized processors to general processors.” As Randall concluded:
We ve found that writing for the PS3 first and then porting to the 360 and Computer is a much simpler and more efficient procedure.
It might be a tiny difficult dealing with the PS3 version first, but it’ll be beneficial in the long run as they have the ability to port it to other consoles with much ease. We’ll just have to wait and see how the developers move on with making the game. More news and updates to come!
