Bionic Commando Rearmed coming in July... hopefully - Image 1We’ve had to live with the delay of Bionic Commando: Rearmed for a couple of days now but, if Capcom’s Ben Judd has his way, we should be seeing the actual game release quite soon.

Ben Judd, the game remake’s producer, is hoping that the game will come out by July. However, that date is still tentative, it seems.

Perhaps the problems they encountered near the end of the development cycle were more serious than we thought. In any event, this bit of news does mean that we’ll have to survive another month without arm-grappling, machine gun-shooting goodness.

Bionic Commando: Rearmed will set you back 800 Microsoft Points when it gets released. Let’s just hope that it comes out sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty 4 achieves 10 million in sales - Image 1Infinity Ward studio head Vince Zampella has said during a recent inquiry that Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360, PS3, Personal computer, DS) has just broken the 10 million mark in sales. If you figure in NPD’s sales reports from last April, that would indicate that CoD4 managed to sell roughly one million copies in a span of two months.

Zampella further adds that CoD4’s map pack add-on has clocked in a total of 1.5 million sales since its release. As a recap, CoD4’s Variety Map Pack will include an assortment of additional maps for the player’s multiplayer bouts, including the Broadcast and the Creek maps. Zampella notes that the game itself is expected to sell more by this Christmas.

On a related note, Zampella also commented regarding the possibility of CoD4 potentially performing better in the market had it been ported to the Wii console. According to him, Infinity Ward felt the game might be compromised had it been included on Nintendo’s platform.

CoD4’s upcoming sequel, now under development by Treyarch, has been confirmed for the Wii console, as well as the Xbox 360, PS3, Personal computer, and DS. Whether its much larger platform base will grant it to exceed its predecessor’s sales figures, however, remains to be seen.

Tomonobu Itagaki - Image 1Yesterday, Ninja Gaiden creator Tomonobu Itagaki announced his resignation from Team Ninja’s mother company, Tecmo. In the announcement, Itagaki also announced that he plans to sue Tecmo for damages.

In his statement, Itagaki mentioned unpaid bonuses that he was supposed to receive upon completion of Dead or Alive 4. According to Tecmo’s own response, this particular bonus was something between Itagaki and the company’s previous management.

Tecmo also expressed displeasure about Itagaki’s decision to make the whole issue public. The company labeled Itagaki’s statements against CEO Yoshimi Yasuda as “distortions” and accused Itagaki of talking about Team Ninja projects as if he developed them all by himself.

Tecmo also apologized to its customers and stock holders for any trouble the drama between the company and Itagaki may have caused. The company also noted that Team Ninja has already started working on new projects.
