Spore demo happening later tonight - Image 1If you live near or in San Francisco and have some free time on your hands tonight, you might want to head on over to 1 Stockton Street (that’s the San Francisco Apple Store, for your information) to watch a specially prepared game demonstration at 7 p.m. PDT.

What makes this demo so important? Well, the game in question is the long-awaited Spore (PC, Nintendo Wii, DS, Mac, Mobile), and the presenter of the demo will be MaxisWill Wright himself. No word on what platform they’ll be using to present the demo, but we expect it’ll probably the PC version, up on a projector screen so it’ll be easy to see.

The demo will be of the full game itself, so if you’ve been reading up on Spore or spending time with Spore’s Creature Creator, this would be a free show you’ll probably want to watch.

The debut teaser for Treyarch’s upcoming entry in the Call of Duty series has finally gone live. It’s a pretty short video (clocking in at a mere 22 seconds) made up purely of what seem to be cutscenes, but it should nevertheless be enough to whet the appetites of die hard CoD fans. You can check it out below.

Call of Duty 5: World at War, currently being developed by Treyarch, is slated for a November 2008 release by Activision. The game will be available for PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, and PC.

EA logo - Image 1 More news from John Riccitiello’s visit to the EA investor meeting over at the Blair & Company Growth Stock Conference in Chicago. Aside from his announcement of a new Need For Speed title, he had other news that may be a bit less welcome.

According to the EA CEO, Pandemic’s Saboteur (Xbox 360, PS3) and BioWare’s Dragon Age won’t be dropping in calendar year 2008. They’ll be released in the fourth quarter of this fiscal year, which means the two titles will be flying off shelves no later than March 29th, 2009.

Pandemic’s Saboteur looked promising in the last trailer we saw of it from about a year ago. Dragon Age, on the other hand, is anticipated by BioWare’s large fan base which recognizes the Canadian studio for such masterworks as Neverwinter Nights and Mass Effect.

Saboteur pits players in the role of a French resistance member during World War II. Using stealth and strategy, gamers can destroy Nazi installations set up during their occupation of the country. Dragon Age, on the other hand, is BioWare’s first game which isn’t based on an existing IP before it. It uses a new game engine called Eclipse and will mark BioWare’s return to fantasy RPG territory.
