Mirror's Edge from EA DICE - Image 1

No, this ain’t another chick flick. If anything, this is another one of those games that feature kick-ass hot babe in true Charlie’s Angels form (the female lead looks like Lucy Liu… or Bai Ling). Sure, the stunts in the trailer so far does not show anything yet that may beat out Angelina Jolie’s moves in Wanted, but we believe in due time we’ll see more of that (hopefully).

Mirror’s Edge, an FPS action-adventure game from EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE), is slated to come out for the platforms PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Computer, and it boasts the power of Unreal Engine 3. If you’re still unaware (or worse, unbelieving!) of the Engine’s superb graphical prowess, then maybe this video will make a believer out of you.

This trailer presented at the ongoing E3 (and I’d have to note it’s definitely more exciting than last year’s, don’t you concur?) shows clips entirely in-game, and I guess that makes it as credible and as faithful as it can possibly be at this point.

The colors are sharp, and it showcases a wider range of actions. The way the camera’s angled also makes it more interesting as the limbs and the torso of the character are sometimes visible on the screen, thereby giving it that feel that she’s actually just wearing the camera on her head for that real “first-person perspective.”

Anyway, you’ll get what we’re saying more if you see it for yourself so we’ll be ceasing the chitchat now.

Dragon Age - Image 1

BioWare. This game developer is practically legendary in the video gaming industry when it comes to RPG creation. Now ever since they revealed Dragon Age: Origins, we’ve been wondering what this game will be offering the rest of the community. Then wait no more because they’ve released some details of what to anticipate via presswire. Here’s the list:

  • Epic Party-Based Combat Dragon Age: Origins will introduce an innovative, scalable combat system, as players face large-scale battles and use their celebration s special capabilities to destroy hoardes of enemies and large creatures.
  • Powerful Magic Raining down awesome destruction on enemies is even more compelling as players apply spell combos, a way of combining together different spells to create emergent one-of-a-kind effects.
  • Deep Customization Players will develop their characters and gain powerful special abilities (spells, talents and skills) and discover ever-increasing weapons of destruction.
  • Your Story, Your Way With its emotionally compelling story, players choose with whom they wish to forge alliances or crush under their mighty fist, redefining the world with the choices they make and how they wield their power.
  • Origin Stories Players will select and play a unique prelude that provides the lens through which the player sees the world and how the world sees the player. The player s choice of Origin will determine who they’re and where they begin the adventure, as they play through a customized story opening that profoundly impacts the course of each adventure.

Bioware will be showing off all these features and more (behind shut doors unfortunately) at E3 2008 so that should be something we have the ability to look forward to.
